I've never caught a ball at a baseball game. I can't even recall being that close.
But if a baseball did come my way, I promise you I'd try to catch it. If I had a glove, there's no doubt. It's instinct.
So when Arizona Man reached along the wall to rob Christian Koss of a game-tying home run, I understood. I was angry, but I understood. (I'm a little less understanding that this is supposedly the third time [!] Arizona Man has done this.)
The umpires initially ruled Koss out on fan interference, which was definitely wrong. Then they awarded Koss a double, which was only kind of wrong. You can be the judge.
What I know for sure is that this was just the latest installment of That's So Giants, complete with Koss hurting his hamstring on his trip around the bases. That came on the heels of Casey Schmitt going on the IL before the game.
The club's two hottest hitters, out of commission. And there's the big reveal.
The problem isn't Arizona Man. It's a lineup relying on Casey Schmitt and Christian Koss.
Up next: It’ll be Hayden Birdsong (3-2, 4.13 ERA) against Zac Gallen (5-9, 5.75 ERA) at 6:40 pm. The Giants will try to hit it away from Arizona Man.
I thought I saw that it was his fourth time, and second against the Giants. He’s a D-Backs fan, so I’m fine with his rest of the season ban.
It seemed like it would’ve been a HR, too- off the top of the wall.
