Should 55 hang forever?

I never saw Will Clark play for the Giants, but it’s a joy knowing No. 22 is being retired in a few hours. Not because I’m a huge Will Clark guy, but because the Giants have fully moved away from a silly unwritten rule.

Largely thanks to Barry Bonds, the club is willing to retire numbers for non-Hall of Famers like Clark. Baseball writers should have never dictated this honor in the first place.

One day, 28 and 40 will join 22 and 25. But should 55 hang forever, too? I don't think so, but do you? Respond!
