As you wake up this morning, the A's (6-8) have a better record than the Giants (6-10).
Two things can be true.
The A's are playing better than the Giants.
The Giants are better than the A's.
The A's just took two of three from the Nationals, who took two of three from the Giants last week.
The Giants just lost two of three to the Rays, with their prized free agent signing allowing seven runs on Sunday.
Therein lies the differences between where the Giants and A's stand right now. The A's team ERA is a full run better than the Giants', whose ERA is somehow worse than the 2-13 White Sox.
The A's-Giants gimmick is admittedly a fun one for April 15, but it won't be for long.
Up next: How’s this for a measuring stick series? The Giants head to Miami to play the worst team in the National League. It’ll be Kyle Harrison (1-1, 4.76 ERA) against A.J. Puk (0-3, 5.91 ERA) at 3:40 p.m.
