It felt like it didn't matter who the Giants played on Monday afternoon. It could have been the '27 Yankees. It could have been the lowly 2023 Tigers.
The Giants were going to struggle to score. Their pitchers were going to give up more runs than the offense could score.
These are the feelings that come up when you're in the throes of a six-game losing streak, when you've scored one run in four of your last five games, when you haven't had a hit with a runner in scoring position since last Wednesday.
The Giants have shown how good they can be. It was only a week ago. Now they're showing how bad they can be.
