The End
It’s all over. The Giants won as many games as they lost, and lost as many games as they won. It's a fitting end to a confusing season.
They're not good. They're not bad. So what are they? Let's paint an incomplete picture using some rankings:
Offense:
Runs: 11
OPS: 13
Home runs: 12
Pitching:
Bullpen ERA: 20
Starters ERA: 7
Strikeouts: 18
Home runs allowed: 1
Defense:
Outs above average: 28
From this, I see a bad defense and unremarkable offense undermining a good starting rotation. What's going to change? Keep your eyes on the outfield—and shortstop.

I wanted to take a beat to say thank you. If you read one postcard or every postcard, I appreciate it more than you know.
This isn’t the last you’ll hear from me, unfortunately. I’ll pop back into your inbox on occasion this winter. Postcards can be sent year-round, after all.
