Splish Splash | Giants 4, Cubs 2
The Giants were not supposed to be the Bay Area team that won Sunday in rain-soaked Chicago.
They were facing yet another bullpen game. Reliever John Brebbia—who's pitched in more games than anyone else in baseball this year—had to start.
Five more relievers followed Brebbia, scattering 11 hits but only two runs. If only for one night, the Giants bullpen limited the damage. That allowed homers from Thairo Estrada and Wilmer Flores to hold up.
And like it or not, those three players are going to have a lot to do with the fortunes of the 2023 Giants.
