(Rally) Monkey's Off Their Back | Giants 8, Pirates 7
Sometimes I wonder how I would have endured the Giants' collapse in the 2002 World Series had I been a bit older. Up 5-0 in the seventh inning of Game 6, nine outs from a title, they lost 6-5.
The thought is especially prevalent when the Giants are up five—like on Sunday. But against the Pirates? Game over.
Ha.
Bryan Reynolds did his best Scott Spiezio impression and launched a three-run homer to put Pittsburgh ahead, 6-5, in the seventh. Well.
Thanks to Thairo Estrada, this movie had a different ending. The Pirates did not win the World Series.
