With each miserable outing by Sean Manaea and Ross Stripling, it's harder and harder to deny Kyle Harrison.
Harrison, the Giants' top pitching prospect, has been on a roll in Triple A. Manaea and Stripling, uh, have not.
They've allowed 49 runs in 51 2/3 innings.
If the Giants are serious about making the playoffs—which they very much claim to be—they need to fearlessly put their best players on the roster.
That means a rotation with Harrison and Alex Wood, who's returning from the injured list.
The Giants spent the spring celebrating how much starting pitching depth they had. But do you really have depth if you can't rely on it?
Next up: The Giants head to Arizona for their first games against the Diamondbacks. It’ll be Alex Cobb (2-1, 2.01 ERA) against Tommy Henry (1-0, 5.17 ERA) tonight, 6:40 p.m. first pitch.
