We shouldn't be surprised, right?
The Giants are exactly what they've been doing all year: winning as much as they're losing.
But the way we've gotten here over the last four days has been unsightly.
Back-to-back extra-inning losses. One of those punctuated by trying to bunt with the hottest hitter on the team.
A first-inning implosion by Robbie Ray on Wednesday night. Three walks, two hit by pitches, one grand slam. He recorded only two outs.
And then the story before Wednesday’s game. Marco Luciano returned to Sacramento, two weeks after the man in charge of the team announced Luciano as the new designated hitter. He started six games.
The team might be around .500, but the optics are in the basement.
Up next: The Giants will try to salvage one game in this series. It’ll be Max Fried (7-6, 3.56 ERA) vs. Logan Webb (10-8, 3.32 ERA) at 12:45 p.m.
