King of Swing (and Miss) | Giants 5, Phillies 3
Carlos Rodón's Giants career is (probably) coming to an end, which is a shame. He's been spectacular. Too spectacular to return on a Farhan-friendly deal.
After striking out 10 on Sunday, Rodón (201) sits three whiffs behind Gerrit Cole (204) for the most in baseball. He also tied Jason Schmidt and Tim Lincecum for the most double-digit strikeout games in one season.
In short, he's been great. B so was Kevin Gausman last year. The Giants ran the other way when it became clear he'd sign for five years, $110 million. Why wouldn't they do the same to Rodón?
