The Joey Bart era is over—for now.
The Giants pulled the plug after 36 disastrous games at the plate, sending the former No. 2 pick to Triple A after Tuesday's loss.
The team announced they acquired Austin Wynns, a light-hitting catcher who might play like Joey Bart but is not Joey Bart.
What does it all mean? Short-term, the Giants are hoping Bart can get right in Sacramento and force his way back.
Long-term, it's bleak. This regime did not draft Bart. They drafted another catcher, Patrick Bailey, the very next year. He's hitting .198 in Single A. Oof.
