Inflection Point | Padres 6, Giants 3
In a few hours, the Giants will either be a "winning" team or a "losing" one, still chasing something more.
The season has reached an inflection point. The Giants have played about half of their games, sitting squarely at 41 wins, 41 losses. They are a .500 team until the last out of today's game.
The curse of following a .500 team is that the next hot streak is always right around the corner, close enough to see but never close enough to reach. You're always chasing it.
That's my read on who these Giants are. They'll lean on last year's 107 wins, preaching that a miraculous run is in them. They can see it. But they can't reach it.
