Baseball is such a hard game. And when you're in your worst offensive rut since 1965, it's amazing how much harder it can look.
You load the bases with no outs and come away with nothing.
You strike out on only two strikes because you didn’t make eye contact with the pitcher.
You scorch the ball at 101 and then 110 mph, with the tying run on third, and lose.
It's amazing how much easier the game looks when you're not the team in its worst slump since SpaghettiOs hit store shelves for the first time.
The Padres needed only three pitches to snatch the lead in the 10th. And when the Giants looked up at the scoreboard, it read 100-0.
Up next: The Giants will try to score against Ryan Berget (1-0, 0.00 ERA). Landon Roupp (3-4, 3.54 ERA) will be on the mound at 6:45 pm. If you’re a gambler, I’d take the under.
2d inning: Bases loaded, no outs. Can’t score. Coin flip game lost
1-Run games: Giants: 11-11; Padres: 12-5
