I Don't Know is on third
Giants 7, Pirates 6 F/12
Even in the moment they win, the Giants leave you wondering: What is happening?
With the bases loaded in extra innings, Jesus Rodriguez blooped a walk-off single into right. The park exploded in celebration, except one guy. The most important guy.
Heliot Ramos, representing the winning run, went back to third base.
He thought the ball would be caught. Instead, he was the one caught, needing to make a mad dash home to save the Giants from their most egregious moment yet.
Duane Kuiper slammed the breaks on his walk-off call, yelling: YOU GOTTA GET HOME. YOU GOTTA GET HOME.
Mercifully, the Pirates right fielder, like all of us, assumed the game had ended. Only at the last moment did he attempt a throw home, close enough to make you imagine the worst-case scenario.
That is the edge the Giants teeter on every day.
Up next: The Giants hit the road for L.A., Sacramento, and Phoenix. They need to win nine of 10 to come back home .500. It’ll be Trevor McDonald vs. Roki Sasaki at 7:10 p.m.

Wow, great video footage. When I was watching live, I somehow missed the hiccup by the right fielder. As soon as it was hit, you could tell it was falling in, but it was shocking how close it was at the plate for Ramos because we didn't get to see his start from third. It appears that he would have been forced out on a timely throw from the right fielder. P.s. Question, regarding television views, why are broadcasts so fixated on the view from the pitcher. It's like 99% of the time. It would be nice to see the movement of the runners, fielders, etc, prior to the pitch. Maybe I call in on KNBR sports talk and ask Kerry or F.P. or Laskey.
