How many runs is too many runs? What a silly question. Apparently if you're the Nationals, the answer is six. A six-run lead is big enough.
First the Nats didn't like Thairo Estrada stealing second in the eighth inning of a 7-1 game. Then they really didn't like Estrada trying to score from second on a hit—so much so that they threw him out. Gabe Kapler says the Giants are respecting their opponents by playing as hard as they can. I agree.
The Giants scored seven runs in an inning on Friday. Who's to say the Nationals couldn't too?
