David Slays Goliath | Dodgers 7, Giants 3
Hitting a home run against Clayton Kershaw is really hard. Doing it as a Giant is, uh, really hard.
Entering Wednesday, Kershaw had allowed 27 homers in 372 career innings against the Giants.
No. 28 came Wednesday off the bat of rookie David Villar, who quietly (?) put together a historic series at Dodger Stadium.
The Giants are staging Villar's 2023 tryout this month. They clearly want the 25-year-old infielder to hit his way onto the team—and he's doing just that.
He left the yard twice Wednesday. And when he returns next spring, he'll have a lot less to prove.
