Carlos's Carvery | Giants 8, Rockies 5
The Tim Lincecum nostalgia is low-hanging fruit, but I'm not opposed to reaching for it.
Carlos Rodon is striking a bunch of dudes out. He whiffed 12 more on Wednesday night in an 8-5 win over Colorado, and his 53 K's this season are the most in baseball.
Baseball Savant can back up Rodon's dominance, but I want to acknowledge the pure fun in watching a pitcher carve up a lineup. The Tim Lincecum nostalgia is low-hanging fruit, but I'm not opposed to reaching for it.
Lincecum last led the league in strikeouts in 2010. Which four NL pitchers trailed him? One's a Hall of Famer. Two are still active. The other pitched in Denver.
