The Giants are neither young nor limber.

Bad defense in baseball isn’t always obvious.

A team with limited range can be disguised as a team where opponents’ hits are always just outside a fielder’s reach. Sounds a lot like the 2022 Giants, to me.

They won Wednesday against the Rockies—on an error, no less. But chew on this from the ever-positive Gabe Kapler, via Andrew Baggarly:

“There are players who haven’t shown their best range this year. I’d rather not throw anyone out there, but there are some players who are not at their best physically and in their best condition.”

Hm.
