130 Years of Deadlock | Dodgers 3, Giants 1
The Giants lost their 1,251st game against the Dodgers on Tuesday.
This tweet caught my eye. Entering Tuesday, the Giants and Dodgers had the same record going back to Opening Day 2021. That's no longer the case after the Dodgers' 3-1 win, but it's still a delightful nugget.
What's more, the Giants and Dodgers have played 2,522 games against each other going back to the 1890s. The series is virtually deadlocked, 1271-1251, with the Giants having the slightest edge. Amazing.
The Dodgers had the edge on Tuesday. One lineup started with Slater, Dubón and Ruf. The other started with Betts, Freeman and Turner. For the Giants, loss No. 1,251.
